Catching Up on Pictures!

Sorry we haven't posted many pictures.  We have really been trying to make note of each of the days, because we know how fast the time will fly and don't want to forget the details.  We knew the pictures would keep, but I have some free time now so here we go...

A family picture with Elora and one of the orphanage representatives
Mommy and daughter shortly after their first meeting...beautiful!!!
A sample of Photos By Elora!
First car ride with us...so cute!
The orphanage brought her to us with the most beautiful hairdo.
Hanging out at the hotel room with Daddy.  Using a blanket Mommy made her.
Trying on sunglasses from friends Jenny and Julie.
Took Dad's phone for some Temple Run...another game I know she's played.
Eating spicy noodles Mom made for her.  She drank lots of water that night :)

Getting close to bedtime first night.

Sweet, sweet girls...could only be cuter if the other princess were with them

Always busy...

Let the carrying begin...

Big mall up the street with the Pizza Hut inside

Waiting for food at Pizza Hut

Loving the pizza. Notice the salad she pushed off the plate to the table.

Walking around outside the hotel. Always busy out there.

Happy to have noodles that aren't so spicy :)

Just had her bath. Blinds into the bathroom are kind of weird but good for peace of mind when she locks us out.

She isn't always thrilled with us. We get this face a lot. Still so cute though...

I brought this tabbed folder to keep all of our documents organized and easy to access. It has been a real life saver. Elora is always funny with it, because she likes to carry it for us. She is a good helper!

Menu from the restaurant. Pretty cool, but not my thing.

Chopsticks!

The ladies and Mr. Li enjoying their lunch. Pretty cool...

Outside of restaurant

Sleepy girl

Her holding our hands in the car. I think I may have a new FB cover photo!

Medical Visit - Big girl!

What a trooper!

China Starbucks

Elora's first Starbucks! She loved it

  2. Love you too JoJo. She is very stinking cute indeed. She likes us pretty well. We have a long way to go though before she really trusts and loves us. Right now though she enjoys hanging out with us most of the time. We are just thrilled she is generally happy and seems to be warming up to us as much as we could ever hoped given her circumstances. We are looking forward to home, but we are actually enjoying China. Skype and the blog are saving us from major homesickness I think. This would have been much tougher on someone before all of our technology. Love you guys all so much.

  4. Thanks for sharing such great pictures! She sure is cute, cute, cute! Really can't pick a favorite. Maybe it's the one of the Starbucks seating! ;) Kidding! I sure do like the one of her looking up in the car; or the chopsticks; or the... or the.. Catch my drift?

LAB, if you're reading this I have bruises from being target practice at a friendly game of PIG. Just thought you should know.

    With hugs and love,
    Jenny

  5. What a great compilation of pictures. You have made up for missing ones earlier in your week. I would have to put the pictures in different categories but think my favorite is the one where she is giving you guys "the look". Funny how that is universal LOL

Can you believe you are almost at the halfway point (what day do you come home?) We will arrive Sunday afternoon and meet Kinley Monday? I finally got our blog going (hours before leaving)

Keep your blog posts coming! I am sure your kiddos are missing you like crazy!

    1. We fly out on Wednesday, the 24th, but spend one night in LA. We'll be home on Thursday, the 25th. We're so excited for you to meet Kinley, too! We'll definitely check out your blog.

You probably already have your things arranged, but I don't know what you guys are doing for phone service. For $2.99/month we signed up for unlimited Skype to landline/mobile US calls. It has been super great and everyone says it is really clear. We can do that using WiFi from our phones with the Skype app or the computer. It is nice to use to call home to friends and family, and to call home and let the kids know we are available to video call on Skype. So far we have gotten by without a mobile phone here, because for a couple dollars more I signed up for some China minutes and use Skype for that as well. It works good from our room. The only downside is if you want a phone when you are out and about. We just stay together and haven't really missed having a phone always with us. Just definitely need a business card from the hotel with the Chinese writing to give to a taxi if you travel out, but I'm sure you know that from your past experience.

Anyway, safe travels and we'd love to see you while we are here if you want. If you do, FB message Heidi and we'll arrange something that way. If you don't want to mess with that after your long journey and with everything going on, we totally understand and will just look forward to seeing you all back in the states!
